What We Offer

Nutrition Education & Awareness

We offer educational materials, workshops, and guidance on:

  • Understanding balanced diets — proteins, grains, fruits & vegetables, and their importance.

  • Healthy meal planning, even on a tight budget.

  • Cooking and food-preparation tips to preserve nutrients and make meals wholesome.

  • Safe food handling and hygiene practices to prevent foodborne illness.

These efforts are important because nutrition education has been shown to improve dietary quality and health outcomes, especially among low-income or underserved populations.

Access to Nutritious Food

Through our program, we aim to distribute not only basic staples, but also nutrient-rich foods:

  • Fresh produce (fruits, vegetables) when available

  • Whole grains, pulses, and other wholesome staples

  • Protein-rich foods as available (beans, lentils, etc.)

  • Balanced food parcels tailored to nutritional needs of different groups (children, seniors, families)

By combining healthy food distribution with education, we promote “nutrition security” — ensuring people don’t just get food, but get good food that supports their health and well-being.

Practical Guides & Support Materials

We make available simple, easy-to-follow resources (printed or digital) for families, such as:

  • Sample weekly meal plans using affordable ingredients

  • Shopping and budgeting guides — how to stretch limited resources yet build nutritious meals

  • Recipes using locally available and budget-friendly foods

  • Tips for safe storage and preparation (especially where refrigeration/access may be limited)

  • Information on local health & community services (e.g. maternal health, school feeding, hygiene support)

Special Focus on Vulnerable Groups

Recognizing that certain groups — children, pregnant or nursing mothers, seniors, and households under financial stress — may need extra support, we tailor our nutrition-related assistance accordingly:

  • Child-friendly meal and food-parcel options to support proper growth and development

  • Guidance for mothers on nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood (if resources allow)

  • Balanced food kits for seniors to help meet their dietary needs

  • Ongoing support for families experiencing chronic food insecurity to help improve diet quality over time
